Manchester United’s pursuit of Frenkie De Jong continues despite the player’s desire whilst Chelsea continue to push for Raphinha and Arsenal’s announcement on Gabriel Jesus is imminent
Manchester United remain determined to make moves in the transfer market despite their faltering approach for Frenkie De Jong.
The midfielder is pushing back on a move to the Premier League as he looks to stay at Barcelona. The Red Devils have seen a host of their rivals make shrewd additions and they could be left behind. Neighbours Manchester City have signed Erling Haaland and are closing in on Kalvin Phillips whilst Liverpool purchased Darwin Nunez.
Arsenal and Chelsea are among those eyeing Raphinha with the Blues needing to add new faces. Romelu Lukaku recently left for Inter Milan whilst Tottenham are eyeing more new faces.
With all that being said, stick around for all of the latest transfer news and rumours direct from Mirror Sport.

Watford to profit from Richarlison move
Richarlison’s £50m move from Everton to Tottenham Hotspur will earn former club Watford a seven-figure windfall.
According to The Athletic, the Hornets are entitled to 10% of any fee above £40m, meaning they could be in line for £2m more if the £10m in add-ons in the Brazilian’s move are met.
Richarlison left Watford for Everton in a deal worth an initial £35m back in 2018, following Marco Silva to Goodison Park, and has played under several further Everton managers since.
Bayern knock back fresh Lewa bid
Barcelona have returned with another bid for Robert Lewandowski, only to come up empty once more.
According to Bild (via Goal), Bayern are holding out for £43m for the Polish international.
Lewandowski, who is out of contract in the summer of 2023, scored 50 times for Bayern in all competitions last season.
Liverpool urged to move for Barella
Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has urged the club to step up efforts to sign Nicolo Barella.
The Italy international has been making waves with Inter Milan since joining from Cagliari in 2019, but has been linked with a move away from the San Siro this summer.
“I do think he would be a good addition,” Johnson told GGRecon. “To score goals and grab assists isn’t easy, despite the fact he hasn’t done it in the Premier League.
“When somebody’s technically very good and can either score or assist a goal regularly, then you don’t expect them to struggle. The more players on the pitch that can help contribute towards a goal is good for the squad.”
Barca boost could complicate De Jong and Raphinha deals
Barcelona’s members have voted through a deal to sell off a chunk of their television rights, potentially complicating some of their summer business.
The deal will net the club a ‘total capital gain’ of £229m, and comes after a series of financial question marks in recent transfer windows.
Barca have been linked with a swoop for Leeds United star Raphinha, with no fee agreed, while De Jong has been the subject of interest from Manchester United.
Pogba deal ‘drawing closer’
Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene has revealed the return of Paul Pogba to Turin is drawing ever closer.
The French international is expected to join Juve for a second time after the expiry of his Manchester United contract.
“We are talking to him, things are progressing very, very well,” Arrivabene told Tuttosport
Romero open to Man Utd return
Sergio Romero is reportedly open to returning to Manchester United for a second spell.
The Argentine goalkeeper played just 61 times in six years with United, but the Manchester Evening News reports that he is ready to continue his career back in England after suffering relegation from Serie A with Venezia.
United are looking to bring in a backup for David de Gea with Lee Grant retiring and Dean Henderson on his way to Nottingham Forest on loan.
