Report: There are now two clear front runners to buy Chelsea after they submit offers

There are now two clear front runners to buy Chelsea after they submit offers

A couple of different Chelsea bidders are now reportedly emerging as the front runners to buy the club.

According to the Financial Times, there are now two potential investors leading the way in the £3billion race to purchase Chelsea.

It is understood a consortium led by Todd Boehly is one of the parties at the front of the shortlist. In addition, a bid that includes Josh Harris and David Blitzer is the other likely buyer.

Boehly, 46, has the backing of Times columnist Daniel Finkelstein, as well as cash-rich duo Hansjorg Wyss and Jonathan Goldstein. He reportedly believes he’s made the best “all-round offer” for the club, too.

Elsewhere, Harris and Blitzer are involved in a bid that includes British duo Sir Martin Broughton and Lord Sebastian Coe.

Raine Group narrowing down Chelsea options

It looks like the Raine Group, who are the US bank overseeing Chelsea’s sale, are picking out the best buyers after going through all offers.

For example, it’s already been confirmed the Saudi Media Group has been unsuccessful with their attempts to buy the Blues.

There may be some light at the tunnel for supporters. Also, all employees around Stamford Bridge will want assurances about their futures with new ownership to come through the doors as soon as possible.
