Report: Chelsea table sensational £140,000-a-week deal to sign warrior wanted by PSG

Chelsea have turned their attention to AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie. He has recently turned down a contract offer from the Serie A outfit and can leave for free next summer. Now, Calciomercato claims that the Blues want to sign the midfield warrior.

Landing him won’t come easily. PSG seem to be building a team akin to the Harlem Globetrotters and they also want to add the 24-year-old to their ranks next season.

Kessie has been with AC Milan since 2017, initially joining on loan from Atalanta. He has made 184 appearances for the Italian giants, becoming a mainstay in the midfield engine room.

During the summer he was courted by several clubs. Arsenal and Tottenham were both reportedly keen on signing him, although both pursued other options eventually.

Now, Chelsea could be preparing to pounce. It’s claimed that they are set to offer the midfielder a contract worth around £140,000-a-week to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues lifted the Champions League trophy last season. This season they have added Romelu Lukaku and will have eyes on winning the Premier League.

Kessie will become a very high-profile free agent at the end of the season. Chelsea look to have put themselves in a good position to land him, but must first beat off PSG for his signature.

Star man: Signing Kessie on a free would be attractive Chelsea signing

The AC Milan midfielder won’t be short of suitors. It’s claimed that Chelsea and PSG are preparing ‘sensational’ offers to secure the services of the combative midfielder.

During his time at the San Siro, he has scored 30 goals and claimed 15 assists. It’s more the work he does out of possession that will catch the eye of supporters, however.

He is a real workmanlike player and always gives 100% in each game he plays. Kessie loves to get stuck in and he’d add a new defensive dimension to the Chelsea midfield.
