Chelsea are keeping an eye on Fulham defender Joachim Andersen as the summer transfer window rapidly approaches, according to BT in Denmark.

Andersen has been an excellent signing for Scott Parker’s side after he joined from Lyon on loan in October.

He is yet to miss a Premier League match since making his debut on match week seven, regularly wearing the captain’s armband in the meantime.

For all his fine performances, Fulham are still in massive danger of facing relegation and subsequently losing some of their best players.

One of those being Andersen, who is already drawing serious attention from across the league.

Football.London reported that Tottenham Hotspur had put the 24-year-old high on their priority list, as Jose Mourinho looks to revamp his defence.

The Danish internationals’ reputation has grown ever since his days at FC Twente.

Ted van Leeuwen, former technical director of Twente, told the Athletic that: ‘He’s (Andersen) a born Italian defender, in my eyes. Just the style of (Georgio) Chiellini… he has that.’

Thomas Tuchel is apparently wanting to do the same restoration project with Chelsea’s back-line.

A new central defender, along with a centre-forward, seems to be top of the clubs wish list.

Moving in for Andersen would be a slightly left-field option, considering the names that the Blues have been previously linked with.

Niklas Sule from Bayern Munich, Jose Gimenez of Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate are all reported possibilities (The Athletic).

At £25m (Daily Mail), Andersen may be the cheapest option of the bunch.

In today’s saturated financial market, this could be a big plus for a player with big potential.
