Chelsea youngsters Omari Hutchinson, Lewis Hall and Bashir Humphreys were all left out of last night’s U21 game against Tottenham.
It has been speculated that Graham Potter is considering ringing the changes for tomorrow’s League Cup tie with the Premier League champions.
This may see him turn to some of those impressing at youth level, which he elected not to do so in the Champions League last week.
The Blues had already secured top spot in the group before the final game with Dinamo Zagreb, however it was still an experienced side on display.
Reports have already claimed that Potter is weighing up giving Hutchinson his chance to impress, with the club asking he does not declare himself available for the Jamaican national team before the game.
Potter hinting at youth
Now, it looks as if Hall and Humphreys may be set to join him.
The former was seen on the bench at the weekend for the defeat at Stamford Bridge to league leaders Arsenal.
He does already have experience for the Chelsea first team, starting and assisting for Thomas Tuchel in the FA Cup.
Chelsea fans will be hoping for plenty of rotation in order to see their player’s given a well-deserved break.
There have been so many games to get through before the season breaks for the winter World Cup.
This has seen players looking tired in recent weeks, none more so than Mason Mount against the Gunners this weekend.
With the pressure off in a League Cup tie, it would be the perfect occasion for the youngsters at the club to show what they can do in an attempt to break into the first team setup on a regular basis.
