Erling Haaland makes Chelsea transfer decision
Erling Haaland’s future is becoming an increasingly hot topic with no shortage of clubs, including Chelsea, keen on signing the Borussia Dortmund star this summer.
The race to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland this summer is poised to be an intriguing one.
The Norway international, who is considered as one of the hottest prospects in the world, is being linked with an array of clubs ahead of the summer window opening in a few months time.
Amongst them are Chelsea, who have reportedly been tracking Haaland’s developments over the last few months in preparation for launching a move for the 20-year-old this summer.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel, who will be looking to see his side progress to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League when they lock horns with Portuguese outfit FC Porto in the second-leg of their quarter-final showdown this evening, is believed to be a big fan of the Norwegian’s talents and is keen on adding him to his attacking ranks ahead of next season.

But Chelsea are not alone in hoping to secure the striker’s signature. A variety of clubs from right across Europe, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are all keen on laying their hands on the attacker.
Haaland’s agent – Mino Raiola – has been in Spain recently to hold talks with both Barcelona and Madrid about their long-term plans and how his client would slot in.
Since then, however, Raiola has confirmed that Dortmund have no intentions to sell their star man this summer, despite knowing that the release clause within his contract comes into effect in the summer of 2022, potentially meaning that they could earn more money for him by selling him this summer opposed to next.
“I can confirm that I was in Dortmund for talks,” Raiola said, as quoted by Sport1. “Michael Zorc made it clear to us that BVB does not want to sell this summer.
“I respect that opinion, but it does not automatically mean that I also agree. BVB were very clear in their views. We are okay with that.”
But although Dortmund may have no plans to sell Haaland this summer, things, as we all know, can change very quickly in football, with one big-money offer from any of the striker’s suitors potentially twisting Dortmund’s arm.
And if a suitable offer is presented to Dortmund by either City or Real Madrid then it is possible that Haaland would jump at the chance to seal the move.
That is because, according to a report by Sport1, the striker has set his sights on joining either City or Madrid, leaving Chelsea and his other admirers to look elsewhere in their search for a striker.
Haaland has been in breathtaking form this season, scoring 33 goals in 34 matches for Dortmund, meaning it is easy to understand why so many are interested in securing his signature.
Should Chelsea miss out on Haaland, they could reportedly switch their focus to trying to lure Sergio Aguero to Stamford Bridge.
The Argentine is out-of-contract at Manchester City this summer and will be leaving the club, meaning it is possible that Chelsea could try and sign him on a free transfer if a deal for Haaland is not doable.
