Following the recent multi-million dollar investment in Mavin Records by global private equity firm, Kupanda Holdings, the Nigerian entertainment company has unveiled Rema, a new artiste signed under Jonzing World, Mavin’s first ever imprint record label.
This move by Mavin’s founder, Don Jazzy, is in response to the growing thirst for Nigerian music globally and also the company’s desire to eventually become a music powerhouse in Africa.
D’Prince, Don Jazzy’s brother and one of the vibrant crewmembers of the defunct Mo’Hits, discovered 18-year-old Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor. The talented young man grew up, lived and hustled in Benin City, Edo State. As a rapper in church and school, he knew as early as 11 that music was what he wanted to spend his life doing. He went on to perform on several stages in Benin City and established his own live band while still in school. Rema’s sound is unique and tilted towards Afrobeat, Trap and Alternative music.
Speaking on his signing to Jonzing World, the energetic and colourful performer said: “It still feels like a dream. It is such a blessing for me to be chosen for something great, and given a platform as big as Mavin Global, and a team as supportive as Jonzing World to enable me achieve my career objectives in music. I am super excited about what the future holds.”
Commenting on the development, Mavin Global President, Don Jazzy, said: “Rema is a formidable young artiste: with his skill and versatility, he has a unique place in the future of Afrobeats. At the same time, we’re excited to launch our first imprint deal with Jonzing World. This model will expand the number of ways the Mavin platform can support artistes and entrepreneurship in Africa to grow together, at home and internationally.”
On his part, D’Prince, founder/CEO, Jonzing World, said: “When I first heard Rema’s music, I knew this was an artiste I wanted the entire world listening to; his talent and artistry are so far beyond his years. By collaborating with Mavin Global, Jonzing World will be able to discover and develop not just Rema but also many more exceptional talents like him. This is only the beginning.”

Tanko Yakasai, elder statesman and political adviser in the second Republic, has claimed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) might field Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo or a National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in 2023.
Speaking with The Interview, Yakasai said it was because the region played a key role in the emergence of Buhari in 2019.
He also said the South-East don’t stand a chance of getting the ticket.
“The current calculation is that the vice-president is from the Southwest. Clearly, there is an unwritten understanding that when Buhari finishes, the Vice President will likely be the next presidential candidate of the APC.
“The Vice President is a Yoruba man. Even if it is not Osinbajo, somebody from there, probably Tinubu, will likely emerge as the candidate of the party.
“And with the performance of the party in the southeast, I don’t see any possibility that the party will think of giving its candidacy to the southeast as against the support it earned from the southwest.
“Apart from voting, don’t forget that there was some material support which APC enjoyed from the Southwest,” Yakasai said.

Lagos Club owner and controversial socialite, Pretty Mike, took to Instagram to write about what he thinks of short women…
Read below:-
Short Girls and there wahala-: They are the EvE among our midst,These are women 5.3ft and below. A short petite woman might still be considered cute and mistaken for a 12yrs old, but a short thick Lady with huge bumbum are the worst.
The shorter they are the closer they are to the devil, that’s is why it’s easier for him to whisper words into their ears.In history, female with the worst Atrocities are mostly short women.
They are the fighters, with the sharpest of tongue ..especially those with a short and small frame, it’s like they swallowed a microphone as they have the loudest of voice and they are very quick to use it.
A short woman is never satisfied in bed ..they have a sex drive with that of a horse, especially those in relationships.. If there is ever a female arm robber will be a short woman, they have the balls for it…They are mean, evil and they don’t play.
They are extremely strong and have the tendency to beat their husband and if they can’t beat, they use poison as an alternative… A short woman would still marry a short man and end up being the man of the house while producing mustard seed children….
If you cheat on a short thick woman be very sure she is going to revenge by sleeping with all ur family and friends as a short woman never forgives…
Please do not invite me for a wedding if both the bride and the groom fall under the category of short syndrome, that’s is wicked and unfair for the next generation of children who will be called kekere all their lives…

Ms Ogochukwu Okafor, young mother of a six-year-old son filmed nude in Anambra State, in a video that has gone viral on the internet, has demanded for justice.

Okafor, who spoke to newsmen in Awka, described the incident as `unfortunate’ adding that the video had ruined her reputation and career.

The victim, a widow said she dropped out of school after she lost her husband.

She said that she held an Ordinary National Certificate (OND) and was currently unemployed.

Okafor said she could never be assuaged by any amount of plea to rescind her decision to have the suspects prosecuted.

“I am a single mother, I lost my husband and I am just struggling to take care of my boy who is just six years.

“I feel terrible, I feel disorganised; if it is just my face I would have endured it but my nakedness all over the place.

“They have ruined my career both in Nigeria and outside the country,” she lamented.

Nwankwo, who flogged the victim, said she never knew her action would assume this regrettable dimension.

She said it was a transferred aggression from her estranged husband who left her and took away her son.

Nwankwo said her intention was to go to her sister’s house who had complained to her about the relationship between her husband and the lady to settle the matter.

”I feel bad, I did not have it in mind that it will turn out this way; My plan was just to go there and settle the situation.

“The memory of my past experience with my ex husband who took away my son made me to transfer the whole aggression on her.

“My sister called me for help that her husband has been sleeping around with this lady and that got me angry.

“When I got there, the lady ran into the toilet and locked the door and I asked her to come out and flogged her, but I was not the person that sent out the video,” she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Okafor was allegedly lured to the home of her Facebook male friend, Mr Ifeanyi Azotani only to be humiliated by Azotani’s wife and her friend who got her nude and had her snapped.

The Anambra Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, who paraded Azotani, his wife, Tochukwu and her friend Ogochukwu for the act, said the suspects stripped their victim and video recorded her naked.

He said that Okafor was lured by her Facebook friend, Azotani to his house in Amawbia, Awka, only for his wife, Tochukwu emerged and locked her in the toilet.

“The suspect’s friend, Nwankwo stripped Okafor naked and flogged her severally while the principal suspect was busy video-taping the incident and thereafter they pushed her out from the compound naked.

“The suspects demanded the sum of N60, 000 from their victim or have her further humiliated by pushing the video to the internet.

“Consequently, when the complainant could not pay the money as requested, the principal suspect actualised her threat and posted the naked video to the internet and since then the video went viral,” he said.

A 39-year-old woman sexually raped a 14-year-old boy to cheer herself up while her boyfriend was in prison, police say.

Leonora Propes reportedly told police she bedded the teen because she was depressed and missed her jailbird boyfriend Glenn Marr, 34.

She was arrested after the boy told police about the sexual encounters, which he says happened last summer in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The boy’s mother alerted police on February 15.

The victim initially denied the accusations but eventually told police he had sex with Propes four times while Marr was in jail, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Reviewreported.

Propes first told police the teen’s mum lied about the sexual encounters and said she was being accused of stealing money from the mother.

She admitted she had sex with the boy during an interview with police on March 10.

Propes blamed her actions on depression and loneliness from when Marr was in prison, police said. She was charged with statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, among other charges.

Marr is said to have reported Propes’ ties with the teen but then told police he made it up to “get revenge” on his girlfriend.

Marr faces a charge of obstruction. The pair will be in court on Wednesday.

One of the renowned chieftains of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State, Abdulazeez Adekunle Lawal, popularly known as Kunle Poly, makes some shocking revelations to Saturday Sun, in this interview with AYO ALONGE. He debunked certain misgivings about his personality and talked about the lingering rivalry between him and another NURTW chieftain, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo.

Kunle Poly is a popular name but there have been certain misconceptions about you. What kind of a person are you, in actual sense?

I am Alhaji Abdulazeez Adekunle Lawal. It’s true that everybody knows me as Kunle Poly but not all know how I came about that name. I got the alias, Kunle Poly, during my days at Kwara State Polytechnic where I obtained ND in Business Studies, between 1995 and 1996. When I returned to Lagos after my ND programme, everybody, including my friends and family members, started calling me Kunle Poly. There were many Kunles, so it was just a kind of identity for me as Kunle from Poly. Well, I am very simple and easy-going person. Those who attended primary school with me at Ebute Ero and secondary school at Ilupeju, can tell you that I was an easy-going boy. I finished my secondary education in 1994 before I proceeded to Kwara Poly in Ilorin. One thing about life is that if you are not close to someone, you can’t tell the kind of person he or she really is. When people don’t understand who you are, they tend to misinterpret you. I hear some people saying that Kunle Poly is dangerous or he is a strong man. I don’t know what they mean by that. Of course, I understand their innuendos and misgivings. But I should know who I really am; I’m a gentle guy, though I also understand why some think I’m tough. It is because I don’t allow cheating. You can’t cheat me and go free and you can’t cheat anyone that I know without facing the consequence. I don’t think that should mean I’m dangerous. You can only say I am stubborn with my principles.

How did you rise to become a prominent chieftain in the Lagos State chapter of the NURTW?

I thank Almighty Allah. I have been in the NURTW for 15 years now. Why I thank God first is because being a member of the transport union, years back, was something you would not be proud of. You could not carry yourself with pride as a member of NURTW. In fact, you wouldn’t want your family members to know you work there because of the tag on union members as hooligans and never-do-wells. But today, it is a different story and it is because the leadership of NURTW has evolved with time. I started my NURTW membership under the leadership of Alhaji Shina Ajayi. I was the Assistant Organising Secretary of Ehin Eyo Unit then. From there, I moved into full time transport business. I was driving a bus and I bought buses for fellow drivers to empower them and they delivered returns to me. I also bought for others to pay back in installments. Later, I came to Idumota where I am now. Getting to this stage in life, I would say, is by the grace of God, and not by the power of man.

What is your view on people’s perception of NURTW members being thugs and low life?

Like I said earlier, the quality of the leadership we have in place now at the national and state levels is making us proud. The NURTW leadership of Alhaji Najim Usman Yasin, the National President who is also the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is being commended everywhere. Also, the leadership of Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede in Lagos State is exceptional. And it is their footsteps we behind them are following. We just can’t afford not to and that is why we are having this unique transformation that was not there in the past. The non-stop menace of hooliganism that you had before the present leadership has been reduced substantially.

What is the genesis of the rivalry between you and another popular NURTW chieftain in Lagos, MC Oluomo?

Let me put it this way, if anything has happened between MC Oluomo and I at all, that thing has become a thing of the past. But there is one thing I want the people to know. I was not behind the attack on Oluomo at the APC rally. Mischief makers just took advantage of the rumour that both of us were nursing the same ambition for NURTW state leadership to spread falsehood.  I have known Oluomo since I joined the NURTW. We remain friends and good colleagues. In fact, we were both born in March and I say happy birthday to him in arrears because he celebrated his birthday some days ago while mine is March 23. MC Oluomo is the head in Oshodi while I am the head in Lagos Island. We are both under the leadership of Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede of Lagos State NURTW and we are getting along very well now. With that, I want to say special thanks to the leadership of NURTW under Alhaji Yasin and all state excos.

Do you see anything stopping your ambition to contest for the chairmanship of Lagos State NURTW?

As a matter of fact, the national headquarters has asked anyone that has such ambition to hide it at the corner of his room for now. When the time is ripe, we will talk about that.

Could you highlight some of the challenges you face on the job?

Honestly, there have been no challenges bigger than what God can solve. Yes, there have been challenges but God has been able to see us through. One thing that we have been able to do to surmount whatever challenges that come is being focused. If you carry out your assignments well, you will make progress. We have a leadership that cares and we have not disappointed them. You will find me in my office as early as 5am, everyday, because I have to lead by example. Our job is about traffic control, so we have to be on the road ahead other road users. It is our duty to make sure that traffic flows, so we must be outside of our homes before others wake up. That is what I do everyday.

How do you unwind?

I don’t relax much. My philosophy of life is that if you want to be a good leader, you can’t use all of your time to relax. A good leader must devote a substantial part of his time to care for his people and attend to the needs of his community. Sometimes, I eat once in a day. I don’t even have time to eat regularly because I always have to attend to people.

There is the popular view that NURTW members drink, smoke and womanise. Which one of these are you guilty of?

Well, that is what most people think but let me shock you, I don’t do any of that. It is hard to believe though. People appear to be used to union members drinking, smoking and womanising but that is not what defines you as a person. Again, we are not all the same. I have a wife and four children. My wife and two of our kids live abroad.

How do you give back to the society?

I give back regularly from what God has blessed me with. We have Kunle Poly Foundation which we use to constantly empower the less-privileged. I have to do this because a lot of people would come to me for aids and I would do the little I could. Later, some elders advised me to set up a foundation that would be a vehicle for charity and I obliged them. And helping people became a lot easier through the Kunle Poly Foundation because I already know that with the Foundation in place, I have to allot certain percentage of my earnings to it. I have made it a ritual to reach out to the less endowed during my birthday celebration. I was born on March 23. So, this year celebration is not going to be an exception as we have mapped out plans to visit the orphanage homes and the old people to donate cash, clothes and food items to the people as a way of appreciating God for His blessings upon me. Aside giving donations, we are also doing other big things. For instance, when I had my birthday event in 2018, I built a mosque for a Muslim society. It was built from my personal purse. This year, we are going to do a bigger one which I want to keep under wrap for now. I believe when you are blessed, you must also impact on people of the communities around you.

Do you have plans to go into active politics?

When the time is ripe, we will see. But I’m a member of the APC in Lagos State. The constitution of our great union does not bar any member from going into politics.

His words: “At the end of this second and final term, I will, God willing, return to Daura and settle down. “Until then, I will continue to do my best for Nigeria, in security, infrastructure, jobs, fighting corruption.

Controversy trails seized property, cash of E-Money, late kidnap kingpin

Controversy is currently trailing the seizure of property and cash belonging to a suspected kidnapper, Collins Ezenwa, popularly known as E-Money, who was killed during a gun battle with policemen attached to Imo State Command in January last year.

This followed allegations by widow of the late kidnap kingpin that operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, had converted her late husband’s property and cash to their personal use, as well as a report which went viral, accusing head of the unit, DCP Abbah Kyari, of illegally depleting late Ezenwa’s assets.

Late Ezenwa, 31, was a Police Corporal, until November 2017. He was alleged to have coordinated several kidnaps and robberies in Imo, Abia, Enugu and Rivers states and was on the verge of kidnapping a South African-based businessman, when he was confronted by the Police.

IG-IRT confisticates 13 houses, 13 vehicles of late kidnap kingpin

Thirteen of his property scattered across the South-East were traced by the IRT operatives. They included a hotel in Enugu State, seven others in Owerri and Okigwe areas of Imo State and one in Aba, Abia State.

Also, seven cars, two Sports Utility Vehicles, one Hilux truck, a commercial bus, two tipper-lorries and a trailer truck were recovered at several locations within the South-East, by the operatives.

He was nicknamed E-Money owing to what was described as his stupendous wealth and generosity.

However, an online medium quoted the Nigeria Human Rights Commission, NHRC, and Amnesty International of accusing the IRT of gross human rights abuses and illegal expropriation of suspected proceeds of crime.

The report alleged that De-Inglish Hotels and Resort in Enugu, owned by the deceased kidnapper and estimated at N220 million, was taken over by the IRT, adding that it had been receiving proceeds of lodging and other services in private bank accounts.

It further alleged that eight blocks of flats on 21, Edinburgh Road, New Layout, Enugu, which was also linked to late Ezenwa, was being managed by the police squad.

Furthermore, the report mentioned Tochukwu Okeke and Ozougwu Stanislaus , as account holders of two bank accounts which the NHRC alleged earnings from the hotel and flats were being paid into.

IRT reacts

In a swift reaction to the allegations, Commander, IRT, DCP Abba Kyari, described them as unverified lies by widow of the deceased kidnapper.

Kyari said: “We have nothing to do with a private account carrying names of people from the South -East, flaunted by the kidnapper’s wife. In this BVN era, bank accounts can easily be investigated and cash movements and owners can easily be traced and arrested for questioning.

“They are all lies from the wife of a kidnap kingpin, who we refused to negotiate with. The family of the kidnapper begged to settle with us but we refused and they vowed to spend money to spoil our names, as all their efforts to transfer the case out of our office failed.

“They now went to a media outfit that is not ready to verify the authenticity of the stories from the kidnapper’s wife who jumped bail given to her on compassionate ground because of her baby.

“She has vowed to enjoy the proceeds of her late kidnapper husband’s crime as if there are no laws in this country. We are suing the media outfit for linking our names to some fictitious/unknown accounts carrying names of people from the South -East.

“I have never seen those accounts and they will tell the court why they are linking me to an account I know nothing about.

“Moreover, all the exhibits which included 13 houses, 13 vehicles and N100 million cash, we froze in the late kidnap kingpin’s bank account, using court order, are intact, while motion for their forfeiture to the Federal Government is before the Owerri High Court.

“We are not relenting. We are used to this type of baseless accusations/lies coming when uncompromising officers are handling cases of billionaire kidnappers like this. Everybody saw the lies from Evans billionaire kidnapper, his lawyers and wife.

“The moment you refuse to negotiate with them, they will sponsor lies against you in anger. Had we agreed to negotiate with the family of the dead kidnap kingpin, nobody would have heard of this case.

“We have nothing to hide, we want anybody or organisation to investigate this matter and see the truth.”

More revelations

Meanwhile, sources at the IRT, disclosed yesterday, that operatives who were on E-Money’s trail before he was gunned down, had earlier apprehended him during a robbery operation in Owerri, Imo State, alongside some bankers and a real estate agent working for him.

The source explained that IRT operatives discovered that E-Money also had links to a notorious robbery gang which specialised in hijacking oil vessels on the high seas and selling off its products to waiting buyers.

It was gathered one of his friends identified simply as Onyekere, had advised him(E-money) to quit his police job and travel out of the country to avoid suspicion.

Vanguard learned that E-Money left his police job, travelled out of the country for weeks and when he returned, bought a hotel in Enugu and also made a deposit of N100 million into a fixed deposit account, to which his wife was also a signatory.

The source said: “We commenced our investigations into the activities of this criminal in October 2017, while he was a policeman, after one Emmanuel and David Ofong were kidnapped along Nsukka-Kogi Road, Enugu by a gang of kidnappers and a ransom of $2 million was paid for the release of one of the victims, David Ofong, while the kidnappers held on to Emmanuel Ofong, demanding for additional money.

“We went into the case and through the aid of advance technology we were able to establish that E-money was the man behind the kidnapping but we had difficulty arresting him then because he was always moving in and out of the country.

“Shockingly, we heard, in 2018 that he has been killed alongside two members of his gang. But since Chief Emmanuel Ofong, who he kidnapped was still missing, we continued our case with the hope of arresting other members of his gang.

“In the process, we arrested a banker working for him and he informed us that his wife had a fixed deposit account credited with N100 million. We also arrested a property agent, who assisted him in buying his property.”

EXCLUSIVE: Access Bank acquires Diamond Bank

Access Bank has finally acquired Diamond Bank, TheCable can report.

According to insiders, the official announcement of the transaction will be made in the course of the week by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The acquisition was midwifed by the CBN in a bid to further consolidate the banking industry, sources informed TheCable.

Last week, Diamond Bank announced its decision to drop its international operating licence to focus on national operations following capitalisation issues.
Uzoma Dozie, the bank’s chief executive officer, confirmed the development in a statement released on Friday.

“With this approval, the bank will cease to operate as an international bank,” Dozie had said.
“The re-licensing as a national bank supports Diamond Bank’s objective of streamlining its operations to focus resources on the significant opportunities in the Nigerian retail banking market, and the economy as a whole.

“The move follows Diamond Bank’s decision to sell its international operations, which included the disposal of its West African Subsidiary in 2017 and Diamond Bank UK, the sale of which is currently in its final stages.
“The change to national bank status also enables the bank to maintain a lower minimum capital requirement of 10 per cent, as against 15 per cent required for international banks.”
The bank recorded its worst month on record in November with share plunging to 0.61k per unit on November 30, 2018.

2019: Buhari has told Nigerians he can’t continue as President – NEF, Ohanaeze, Afenifere, others

Leaders and Elders of Nigeria, under the aegis of Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Afenifere, Ohaeneze Ndigbo, Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, and Middle Belt Forum, have said that President Muhammadu Buhari has again told Nigerians that he does not have the wherewithal to protect the country and its citizens.
They have, however, reiterated their collective position that the country needed a new leadership from next year.
The leaders and elders, expressed shock and disappointment that President Buhari has again gone to the global stage to restate his position that terrorism and insurgency in the Sahel region and Lake Chad Basin were fuelled by local runaway fighters from Iraq and Syria and arms from the disintegration of Libya.
According them, the President’s position was obviously what they described as a disingenuous way of explaining the failure of leadership of Nigeria under him to fulfill the elementary obligation of any constituted authority -protecting the lives of its citizens.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by former Federal Commissioner for Information and South South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark; Leader of Northern Elders Forum (NEF) , Professor Ango Abdullahi; Leader of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo; President- General of Ohanaeze, Chief John Nnia Nwodo and President, Middle Belt Forum, Dr. Pogu Bitrus.

The statement said, “The Nigerian Leaders and Elders Forum is totally embarrassed that President Muhammadu Buhari has gone to the global stage once again to restate his position that terrorism and insurgency in the Sahel region and Lake Chad Basin are fuelled by local runaway fighters from Iraq and Syria and arms from the disintegration of Libya.
“The President spoke in New York where he unfolded Nigeria’s positions on international matters before the global audience during the opening of the General Debate of the 73rd Session of the United Nation’s General Assembly (UNGA73).

“The position of the President is obviously a disingenuous way of explaining the failure of leadership of Nigeria under him to fulfill the elementary obligation of any constituted authority -protecting the lives of its citizens .
“In the last three and a half years, thousands of lives have been lost to bandits and terrorists with our government failing to apprehend any suspect except giving one excuse or the other for its inability to secure our country .

“The palpable failure of the administration has led many citizens including Lt Gen TY Danjuma to conclude that there could be some complicity between the terrorists and some members of our security forces .
“This is why it is so scandalous that the President would still be offering this jaded line a few months to the end of his tenure .

“Does he expect Nigerians to hold an appreciation rally that he is telling them that he knows where those killing them are from and he cannot do anything about it?

“It is more appalling that one of the major planks of campaign by the President in 2015 was to secure Nigeria. Is this how to secure a country?
“If a group of foreign gangsters decide to take over the government of Nigeria today, is it this kind of lamentations we would see?

“It is pretty clear Nigerians cannot have security under a President that admits this kind of abysmal failure and incapacity at a global stage.
“It is a confirmation of our position that Nigeria needs a new leadership from next year that understands what the duties of a responsible and responsive government is.

“We cannot continue to die daily as a people unprotected under this type of leadership for another four years after the first unfortunate four of this administration.”

Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu, the Miss Imo State Queen Nigeria 2018 has revealed that a visit to Owerri Prison on her birthday has changed the way she saw things, especially where it concerns prison inmates.

Queen Joy who marked her birthday on November 29, 2018, said she previously thought the prison was just a place of agony, but never knew people there had their own lives going on for them.

“I learned people have studied and graduated from while in prison, some are on their Master’s Degree and there are others who are very productive in one way or the other”, she said.

After an initial courtesy visit on Mr. Odutan Seye Olukoya, the Deputy Comptroller of Owerri Prisons, Imo State after being appointed as the Coordinator of Imo State Chapter of the Association of Beauty Queens and Kings, Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu decided to celebrate her birthday with the inmates.

“When I learned about their needs, I thought it wise to do my bit. Their needs are actually unlimited, but if taken bit by bits, these inmates will have a good life”

“We arranged food for about 100 persons; I partnered with some medical personnel who helped in the distribution of medical supplies, but the most amazing part was the grand reception they gave us”

“It was amazing seeing inmates that are preachers, singers, dancers and what have you. They entertained us and this will go down as one of the best celebrations I have ever had”

Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu who is also the CEO JoyChinonye Foundation, then hailed Mr. Odutan Seye Olukoya whom she described as a father figure to the inmates, thanking him for the grand reception accorded to her and her crew at the Owerri Prisons.

Having been crowned Miss Imo State Queen Nigeria 2018 recently, Queen Chinonye Joy Olebu said she already has plans of making a difference in the society with series of projects already lined up before her reign ends.

Today I write in tears, not from a place of pain, but of joy and gratitude. A place of bliss and satisfaction because I am more than contented with how far this opportunity has brought me.

The last five years have been the most blissful years of my career. The journey has been extremely wonderful and filled with the best experiences. I’ve learnt that family is not just about blood ties but about the love, sacrifices and friendship that exist amongst its members. The
relationships I have fostered has proved to me that love is thicker than blood.

Joining the @mavinrecords family was the best thing to have happened to me in the last decade. @donjazzy took me in and treated me like his own son. I’ll be eternally grateful to him for sacrifices he made towards the growth of my career. His selflessness and efforts towards me and the entire Mavin crew is one that is admirable and worthy of emulation. A true KING with a large heart, full of kindness and ready to accommodate even more people.

And to the rest of the crew, Our family is a clear example of the saying, “We rise by lifting others.” Thank you all for all the times you’ve lifted me at my lowest moments, for the support, the amazing hits and most especially, the LOVE.

Taking this bold step and moving on from Mavin Records onto bigger opportunities is something that, though not easy, is absolutely necessary because of my growth. I am very ecstatic about what the future holds and I cannot wait to share with everyone what new opportunities have come. Long Live Mavin Records.

Aisha Buhari reacts to DSS’ arrest of ‘sister’

Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to Department of State Services’ (DSS) investigation of a fraud suspect who claimed to be her sister.

Her spokesman, Suleiman Haruna, in a statement on Wednesday, said Aisha
was not involved in the case.

The statement reads, “She wishes to state categorically that Mariyatu is not her sister and the so called Amina Mohammed is not and was never her associate and is therefore not in a position to transact any business in her name or that of her office.

“She wishes to further state that she does not run businesses in her office, therefore whoever does business with anyone in her name will be doing so at his/her own risk.

“As for staff of her office, she wishes to state that anyone found to be engaged in fraudulent dealings, will face the full wrath of the law.”

Speaking with reporters, DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, had disclosed that Amina disguised herself as Aisha Buhari to fleece a Lagos-based business mogul of N150 million.

He said, “The importance of this conference is to unveil the identity of a suspect that had an unauthorized access to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa and used the Office of the First Lady to engage in a fraudulent act.

“The woman, who is being paraded, has adopted various aliases and used the same false identities to defraud several unsuspecting persons before she was discovered.

“Amina Mohammed, also known as Justina Oluoha and Amina Villa, had on November 22, 2017, paraded herself as the First Lady of Kogi State.

“She used the false identity to evade protocol and scrutiny thus gaining unauthorized access into the Villa, and particularly the residence of the First Lady and wife of the president, Hajia Aisha Buhari.

“She took advantage of the fact that personalities such as first ladies, ministers and certain categories of officials are not taken through rigorous protocol and security checks at the Villa posts.

“What may even surprise you is that Amina, whose phone number is registered with the name, Amina Villa, had on the said date invited (names withheld) into the Villa wherein she made him believe the invitation was at the instance of the First Lady.

“Investigation has revealed that the First Lady was away on lesser hajj and not in the Villa during the period. The businessman had complained that he was fleeced of over N150 million in respect of a Court of Appeal property in Lagos, which Amina had promised to help him buy through the First Lady.

“The property was said to have been part of those under the Presidential Implementation Committee on Lease of Federal Government Properties.

“Investigation has shown that this unholy enterprise is not to the knowledge of the First Lady. What Amina simply did was to use the First Lady’s name and office as bait to lure and defraud her victims.

“Members of the public are advised to be wary of individuals or groups that drop names and offices of high government officials to defraud them.”

Narrating her own side of the story, Amina said, “The DSS did not arrest me, I came here on their invitation. I am not a fraudster; the sisters of the First Lady are involved in this business. I cannot accept this allegation.

“The former SGF, is involved in this fraud. Aisha’s sister is involved. I did not dupe him because he usually gave bribe to buy Federal Government property. The directors in the ministry have been involved in getting bribe before bidding is concluded.

“He knows the process and taking him into Villa was not an attempt to defraud him but because Aisha’s sister was involved. I cannot allow anybody to put me to shame to the whole world.”

When pressed further, she added, “Ask the First Lady’s sisters, ex-SGF is involved. Leave me alone.”

Condemn not Mbaka, but pray God to lead him aright, Peter Obi urges Nigerians

Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, has asked Nigerians who are aggrieved over the apparent show of shame displayed by Rev Ejike Mbaka to refrain from attacking the Adoration clergy.

Mbaka had in a viral video described Obi as being stingy and said that he and PDP presidential candidate may lose 2019 general elections.

Mbaka made this statement on Sunday after he had begged Obi to publicly make a donation to support projects in his Enugu State Adoration centre. Obi’s preference to discuss with Mbaka alone on the project he will undertake did not go down well with the controversial Catholic priest, hence his prediction.

But in his response in a statement through his media aide, Val Obienyem, the former governor of Anambra State said he did not feel bad about the priest’s pronouncement, adding that there is always something positive to gain in every situation.

He therefore called on his loyalists and other Nigerians who are pained by the action of the priest to refrain from attacking him, but instead pray for God to lead him aright.

“Please let us leave Fr. Mbaka alone; our duty to him is prayers for God to lead him aright. While one may disagree with him, we should always acknowledge that he speaks and acts from the higher perspective of wisdom,” he said.

Obi, who had during the encounter with Mbaka, hinted that he had a reverend sister and a reverend father as elder and younger siblings respectively, went further to say, “I have full respect for men of God and will always remember them in my prayers. When they go wrong as humans, subject to human frailties, ours is not to castigate them, but to pray to God to lead them aright.”

According to Obi, donations to churches are “appreciation of God’s love and benevolence to us, they attract more rewards when done secretly.”

Meanwhile, Mbaka had after the encounter with Obi, also met with Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and others, who the priest said were at the Adoration Ground to represent President Muhammadu Buhari.

He had told Ganduje and those with him, “How I wish you were here when I was speaking to Peter Obi representing Atiku, I know that Obi went out from here almost disgraced. All the people Buhari is giving allocation what qualification do they have that we don’t have? Who among them have done for him what we are doing for him? It is because of this Buhari that we told Peter Obi all these rubbish he heard today. And I want to tell you, if Buhari will remain ungrateful to this ministry, he is going nowhere. Atiku is waiting for him somewhere, and the only thing that can stop Atiku is spiritual, so you people should go and come back, you should not take us for granted, I am speaking with spiritual mandate.”

Speaking during the 2018 harvest and bazaar celebration at his Adoration Ground in Emene, he said it was bad and scandalous before the Holy Spirit that after their prayers on Adoration altar made Buhari the President, he had refused to come and do a project for his ministry as a way of thanking God.
Angry Mbaka further narrated how his ministry’s prayers saved Buhari from deadly sickness in 2015 and said anybody with Buhari’s ears should warn him that no one cheats God, that after he thinks he is healthy, his sickness may come in another form.
Accountants Tasked On Professionalism, Others Speaking on Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Fr. Mbaka said that if he continued on the same trajectory, he and his running mate would end in shame.
Speaking in Igbo, Mbaka said: “Ask Atiku if it is these steps that the cow will take to reach Umuahia.” Mbaka concluded by requesting that Atiku should reach out to Igbo leaders like Hon. Ike Ekweremadu and also come personally to adoration ground and do a project for them.”
He also berated Atiku’s running mate, Mr. Peter Obi.
Though he said they had always supported Obi, he stated that Obi had not done anything for his church. He said God would bless Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and grant them second term for what they had done for him.
Fr. Mbaka curiously withheld Obi’s blessing and said he would only release it after Obi had done a project for them.
Using Umahi as an example, Mbaka said: “Umahi donated 1,000 bags of rice and 1,000 tubers of yam to us, but it meant nothing to me until he handed N10 million cheque to me and promised to build a project for the ministry. This is the type of gesture we require from Obi”, he said.
Peter Obi An Iconic Son Of Igboland – Gov. Ugwuanyi While acknowledging the donation of N500,000 from Obi as his money for breaking of kolanut, he said “ stinginess is not a virtue.”
In his own remarks, the representative of President Buhari, Sen. Hope Uzodinma was warmly embraced the moment he announced N2 million for breaking of kolanut by Buhari and the announcement that Buhari will build a hospital in adoration ground for him. The elated Mbaka said that such was the type of gesture he needed from Buhari.

Responding to Hope Uzodinma’s donation of N20 million to him, he said “Uzodimna would become the next governor by the grace of God.” On Imo State and Abia State, he said the case of the two state’s were beyond redemption and that the two states were possessed by the devil and needed to be exorcised.
Our support for Ugwuanyi’s re-election indisputable — Mbaka However, Mbaka reiterated the unflinching support of his ministry for the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for a second term in office in 2019.
The outspoken priest stressed that the ministry has “100 per cent support for Gburugburu (Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi)” saying: “It is unquestionable; Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria stands for him; he is a good man; a man of peace; a perfect genius; humble and ever patient”.
Ondo Workers Commend Akeredolu For Paying Six Months Outstanding Salarie The thanksgiving mass was also celebrated for Gov.
Ugwuanyi, other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, members of the State Assembly, State Executive Council and PDP campaign organization, among others, to herald the commencement of campaigns for the 2019 general election as well as entrust the activities to the hands of God. Extolling the leadership qualities of Gov. Ugwuanyi, Fr. Mbaka applauded him for uniting “all political parties” and ensuring equitable development across the three senatorial districts in the state, stating that “Enugu State has not had a leader like him”.
He maintained that the Adoration Ministry has not only given Gov. Ugwuanyi their endorsement for a second term in office but also spiritual support backed with unceasing prayers.
