DSS Arrests EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu

DSS Arrests EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu

Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Sahara Reporters say he was arrested over allegations that he owns four properties.

He is also alleged to have transferred funds abroad through a third party.

In 2016, DSS accused the EFCC boss of living in a N40m mansion paid for by one Umar Mohammed, a retired Air Commodore.

EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, did not take calls.

The DSS report said on December 2010, the Police Service Commission (PSC) found Magu guilty of action prejudicial to state security – withholding of EFCC files, sabotage, unauthorised removal of EFCC files and acts unbecoming of a police officer, and awarded him severe reprimand as punishment.

It noted that Magu is “currently occupying a residence rented for N40m at N20m per annum. This accommodation was not paid [for] from the commission’s finances, but by one Umar Mohammed, air commodore retired, a questionable businessman who has subsequently been arrested by the secret service”.

DSS stated that Magu enlisted “the Federal Capital Development Authority to award a contract to Africa Energy, a company owned by the same Mohammed, to furnish the residence at the cost of N43m”

“Furthermore, the EFCC boss has so far maintained a high-profile lifestyle. This is exemplified by his preference for first-class air travels. On 24 June 2016, he flew Emirate airlines first-class to Saudi Arabia to perform lesser hajj at the cost of N2.9m. This is in spite of Mr President’s directive to all public servants to fly economy class.

“Magu has fostered a beneficial relationship with Mohammed who by his confession approaches clients for possible exploitation, favours and associated returns,” the DSS report said.

In one of such trips, the report added that Magu flew to Maiduguri alongside Mohammed with a bank MD who was being investigated by the EFCC over complicity in funds allegedly stolen by the immediate past petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

CBN Order Arrest Of Prophet Odumeje For Doing This (Read Details)

Prophet Odumeje

CBN Order Arrest Of Prophet Odumeje For Doing This (Read Details). Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, to order the arrest of the controversial Onitsha based prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere also known as Odumeje.

HURIWA wants Odumeje arrested for his serial abuses of the Nigerian naira and other denominations during his public ceremonies in Onitsha.

The National Coordinator Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director, Zainab Yusuf on Sunday in a statement said it had resolved to write officially to the Minister of Finance, CBN governor and President Muhammadu Buhari to implore them to defend the naira against global defacing of the naira notes.

HURIWA recalled that according to Section 21(3) of CBN Act 2007 “spraying of, dancing or matching on the Naira or any note issued by the Bank (CBN) during social occasions or otherwise howsoever shall constitute abuse and defacing of the Naira or such note and shall be punishable under Sub-section 1 of this section.”

“We have watched with disappointments as this self-professed prophet Odumuje kept abusing and defacing the national currency and both the Police and the CBN have failed for many months to stamp their authorities and prosecute these serial abusers of the national currency,”the statement reads.

“We ask the CBN to ensure that that the legal provisions that should have protected the naira notes from abuse which are today being observed more in the breach than in compliance should be reversed.

“It is true as observed recently by a patriotic citizen that quite disappointingly, CBN and the security agencies have had their eyes glue-closed while the nation and its inhabitants suffer from preventable abuses of the national currency.

“Just as we reaffirm and re-echo the fact as stated by an observer that as it were, the law against abuse of naira has been in place for over a decade, yet the CBN is still at the stage of “awareness creation” and “sensitization” of the citizens whereas religious houses are openly celebrating the abuses of the national currency which is a legal tender that ought to be respected by the citizens and everyone in Nigeria.”

Following the appointment of COMR. IGWAH FRANCIS CHIDI by the NANS President, BAMIDELE AKPAN as the Chairman NANS National Taskforce on Covid-19 Anambra State axis and the consequent formation of a formidable Committee on Covid-19 Anambra State chapter comprising of all the sitting Students Union Presidents (SUG), the JCC Chairman and a few NANS Stakeholders/leaders in the State, the committee has swung into action to appeal to well meaning Anambrians and the general public for support to enable it gather the much needed palliative materials ranging from FACE MASKS, HAND GLOVES, SANITISERS, FOOD ITEMS, etc to reduce the suffering of these vulnerable students in this austere period in the history of mankind.

We know that government and individuals are facing serious economic/Financial bottleneck but nothing is too little or too big to support these young Nigerians students who have been trapped in their off campuses hostels around their schools. We make bold to correct the wrong impression or presumption that students are at home in this period of global crises/pandemic. As a matter of fact over Twenty Eight Thousand (28,000) students were trapped within the institutions’ environments across the 9 campuses in Anambra State as we all know that the lockdown began with 2 weeks then extended to where we are currently while many students were ready for exams.

Moreso the school environment is a home to many homeless and frustrated youths (Students especially) and many students depend on their daily hustle to sustain and train themselves in school.

Therefore the 3 Classes of students that will be covered/helped by the intervention/palliative programme are;

1. Physically challenged/ Disabled Students.
2. Indigent Students…. those who are training themselves in school.
3. All stranded Students across the campuses within the schools environments (institutions community).

Hence the Anambra Students/Comrade community including the National Union Of Anambra State Students (NUASS) seeks the support/ intervention of all Nigerians especially Anambrians to help the hungry and dejected Students mostly Anambrians who have been left in a state of dilemma by the deadly pandemic.
Material donations especially food items will go a long way and nothing is too small or too big to help humanity…God bless you as you help and support the suffering students in Jesus name, Amen.

The list of donors for NANS Covid-19 Support/Palliative programme as at the time of kickoff on May 3 2020 is bellows;

1 .Comr. Igwa Francis…#20,000
2.Comr Obelle Chuks Obelle…#10,000

He made this known in his address to the whole country today.

Read Full Speech Below:-

MONDAY, 27th APRIL, 2020

Fellow Nigerians

I will start by commending you all for the resilience and patriotism that you have shown in our collective fight against the biggest health challenge of our generation.

As at yesterday, 26th April 2020, some three million confirmed cases of COVID nineteen have been recorded globally with about nine hundred thousand recoveries. Unfortunately, some two hundred thousand people have also died passed away as a result of this pandemic.

The health systems and economies of many nations continue to struggle as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nigeria continues to adopt and adapt to these new global realities on a daily basis. This evening, I will present the facts as they are and explain our plans for the coming month knowing fully aware that some key variables and assumptions may change in the coming days or weeks.

Exactly two weeks ago, there were three hundred and twenty-three confirmed cases in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

As at this morning, Nigeria has recorded one thousand two hundred and seventy-three cases across 32 States and the FCT. Unfortunately, these cases this includes 40 deaths fatalities.

I will useam using this opportunity to express our deepest condolences to the families of all Nigerians that have lost their lives loved ones as a result of the COVID nineteen Pandemic. This is our collective loss and we share in your grief.

Initial models predicted that Nigeria will record an estimated two thousand confirmed cases in the first month after the index case.

This means that despite the drastic increase in the number of confirmed cases recorded in the past two weeks, the measures we have put in place thus far have yielded positive outcomes against the projections.

The proportion of cases imported from other countries has reduced to only 19% of new cases, showing that our border closures yielded positive results. . These are mostly fellow Nigerians returning through our land borders. We will continue to enforce land border arrival protocols as part of the containment strategy.

Today, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has accredited 15 laboratories across the country with an aggregate capacity to undertake 2,500 tests per day across the country.

Based on your feedback, Lagos the State Government and the FCT with support from NCDC is hasve established several sample collection centers in Lagos and the FCT. They are also reviewing their laboratory testing strategy to further increase the number of tests they can perform including the accreditation of selected private laboratories that meet the accreditation criteria.

Several new fully equipped treatment and isolation centres have been operationalised across the country thereby increasing bed capacity to about three thousand. At this point, I will commend the State Governors for the activation of State-level Emergency Operation Centres, the establishment of new treatment centres and the delivery of aggressive risk communication strategies.

Over ten thousand healthcare workers have been trained. For their protection, additional personal protective equipment has been distributed to all the states. Although we have experienced logistical challenges, we remain committed to establishing a solid supply chain process to ensure these heroic professionals are can work safely and are properly equipped.

In keeping with our Government’s promise to improve the welfare of healthcare workers, we have signed a memorandum of understanding on the provision of hazard allowances and other incentives with key health sector professional associations. We have also procured insurance cover for five thousand frontline health workers. At this point, I must commend the insurance sector for their support in achieving this within a short period of time.

Nigeria has also continued to receive support from the international community, multilateral agencies, the private sector and public-spirited individuals. This support has ensured that critical lifesaving equipment and materials, which have become scarce globally, are available for Nigeria through original equipment manufacturers and government-to-government processes.

The distribution and expansion of palliatives which I directed in my earlier broadcast are still ongoing in a transparent manner. I am mindful of the seeming frustration being faced by expectant citizens. I urge all potential beneficiaries to exercise patience as we continue to fine-tune our logistical and distribution processes working with the State Governments.

I have directed the Central Bank of Nigeria and other financial institutions to make further plans and provisions for financial stimulus packages for small and medium scale enterprises. We recognise the critical role that they play in Nigeria’s economy.

Our Security Agencies continue to rise to the challenge posed by this unusual situation. While we feel deeply concerned about isolated security incidents involving hoodlums and miscreants, I want to assure all Nigerians that your safety and security remains our primary concern, especially in these exceedingly difficult and uncertain times. As we focus on protecting lives and properties, we will not tolerate any human rights abuses by our security agencies. The few reported incidences are regrettable, and I want to assure you that the culprits will be brought to justice.

I urge all Nigerians to continue to cooperate and show understanding whenever they encounter security agents. Furthermore, for their protection, I have instructed the personnel of the security agencies be provided with the necessary personal protective equipment for their own protection.

As we continue to streamline our response in the epicentres of Lagos and the FCT, I remain am concerned about the unfortunate developments in Kano in recent days. Although an in-depth investigation is still ongoing, we have decided to deploy additional Federal Government human, material and technical resources to strengthen and support the State Government’s efforts. We will commence implementation immediately.

In Kano, and indeed many of other States that are recording new cases, preliminary findings show that such cases are mostly from interstate travel and emerging community transmission.

Drawing from these, I implore all Nigerians to continue to adhere strictly to the advisories published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. These include regular hand washing, social physical distancing, wearing of face masks/coverings in public, avoidance of non-essential movement and travels and avoidance of large gatherings remain paramount.

Fellow Nigerians, for the past four weeks, most parts of our country have been under either the Federal Government or State Government lockdowns. As I mentioned earlier, these steps were necessary and overall, have contributed to slowing down the spread of COVID nineteen in Nigeria.

However, such lockdowns have also come at a very heavy economic cost. Many of our citizens have lost their means of livelihoods. Many businesses have also shut down. No country can afford the full impact of a sustained lockdown while awaiting the development of vaccines or cures.

In my last address, I mentioned the Federal Government will develop strategies and policies that will protect lives while preserving livelihoods.

In these two weeks, the Federal and State Governments have jointly and collaboratively worked hard on this how to balance the need to protect health while also preserving livelihoods, leveraging global best practice while keeping in mind our peculiar circumstances.

We looked assessed how our factories, markets, traders and transporters can continue to function while at the same time respecting adhering to the NCDC guidelines on hygiene and social distancing.

We assessed how our children can continue to learn without compromising their health.

We reviewed how our farmers can safely plant and harvest in this rainy season to ensure our food security is not compromised. Furthermore, we also discussed how to safely transport food items from rural production areas to industrial processing zones and ultimately, to the key consumption centres.

Our goal was to develop implementable policies that will ensure our economy continues to function with while still maintaining our aggressive response to the COVID nineteen pandemic. These same difficult decisions are being faced by leaders around the world.

Based on the above and in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on COVID nineteen, the various Federal Government committees that have reviewed socio-economic matters and the Nigeria Governors Forum, I have approved for a phased and gradual easing of lockdown measures in FCT, Lagos and the Ogun States effective from Monday, 4th May 2020 at 9 am.

However, this will be followed strictly with aggressive reinforcement of testing and contact tracing measures while allowing the restoration of some economic and business activities in certain sectors.

The highlights of the new nationwide measures are as follows;

👉 Selected businesses and offices can open from 9 am to 6 pm;

👉 There will be an overnight curfew from 8 pm to 6 am – This means all movements are will be prohibited during this period except essential services;

👉 There will be a ban on non-essential inter-state passenger travels until further notice;

👉 There will be Partial and controlled interstate movement of goods and services will be allowed to allow for the movement of goods and services from producers to consumers; and
We will strictly ensure the mandatory use of face masks or coverings in public in addition to maintaining physical distancing and personal hygiene.

Furthermore, the restrictions on social and religious gathers shall remain in place.

State Governments, corporate organisations and philanthropists are encouraged to support the production of cloth masks for citizens.

For the avoidance of doubt, the lockdown in the FCT, Lagos & Ogun States shall subsist remain in place until these new ones come into effect on Saturday, 2nd May 2020 at 9am.

The Presidential Task Force shall provide sector-specific details and timing guidelines to allow for preparations by Governments, businesses and institutions.
The above are guidelines.

State Governors may choose to amend adapt and expand based on their unique circumstances provided they maintain alignment with the guidelines issued above on public health and hygiene.

These revised guidelines will not apply for to Kano State. The total lockdown recently announced by the State Government shall remain enforced be enforced for the full duration. The Federal Government shall deploy all the necessary human, material and technical resources to support the State in controlling and containing the pandemic.

I wish to once again commend the frontline workers across the country who, on a daily basis, risk everything to ensure we win this fight. For those who got infected in the line of duty, be rest assured that Government will do all it takes to support you and your families during this exceedingly difficult period. I will also take this opportunity to assure you all that your safety, wellbeing and welfare remains paramount to our Government.

I will also recognize recognise the support we have received from our traditional rulers, the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and other prominent religious and community leaders. Your cooperation and support have significantly contributed to the successes we have recorded to date. I will urge you all to please continue to create awareness on the seriousness of coronavirus among your worshippers and communities while appealing that they strictly comply with public health advisories.

I will also thank the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the Presidential Task Force for all their hard work to date. Through this collaboration, I remain confident that success is achievable.

I also wish to thank corporate organisations, philanthropists, the UN family, the European Union, friendly nations, the media and other partners that have taken up the responsibility of supporting our response.

And finally, I will thank all Nigerians again for your patience and cooperation during this difficult and challenging period. I assure you that the government shall continue to take all necessary measures to protect the lives and livelihoods our citizens and residents.

I thank you for listening and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Buhari signs COVID-19 regulations to enforce lockdown in Lagos, others

President Buhari today signed the COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 giving him the executive powers to declare COVID-19, a dangerous infectious disease.

The COVID-19 regulation also gives the president the legal backing for all the measures his government has put in place to curtail the spread of the ravaging virus particularly the lockdown of some states.

A statement issued by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, explained that this is “in exercise of the powers conferred on the president by Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Quarantine Act (CAP Q2 LFN 2004).”

The statement in part reads:

“In exercise of the powers conferred on him by Sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Quarantine Act (CAP Q2 LFN 2004), and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, President Muhammadu Buhari, Monday, signed the Covid-19 Regulations, 2020, which declared Covid-19 a dangerous infectious disease.

The Regulations, effective March 30, 2020, also gave legal backing to the various measures outlined in the President’s National Broadcast on March 29, 2020, such as Restriction/Cessation of Movement in Lagos, FCT and Ogun State and others toward containing the spread of the pandemic in the country.

In addition, to ensure that Nigerians can still perform on-line transactions and use ATMs whilst observing these restrictions, exemption is granted financial system and money markets to allow very skeletal operations in order to keep the system in light operations during the pendency of these regulations.

On Sunday March 29th, the President addressed the Nation and announced the restriction of movement in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus in Nigeria.

Legal practitioners and Senator Dino Melaye kicked against the directive issued by the President. They argued he had no legal backing to issue such a directive.

Obiano Tells Buhari, Give Me 1 Billion Naira To Fight COVID19

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has applied to the Federal Government for the sum of N1bn to secure his state against COVID-19 spread.

Obiano said Anambra had opened a special account for donations towards preventing coronavirus from spreading into the state, which currently has no record of COVID-19.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, the governor said the steps were in line with the state’s resolve to ensure it remained free of the disease.

He urged the Federal Government to avail the state N1bn to help it to sustain the zero record because of the strategic nature of Anambra State people in commerce and industry.

The statement read in part, “Governor Obiano, therefore, considers it imperative that the Federal Government provides at least N1bn to Anambra, which is at risk in view of the multitude of people in its numerous markets and the peripatetic nature of the people who have been helping in the rapid development of all parts of Nigeria.

“Besides, we have as many as 63 major markets in the state, including the Onitsha main market, which is the largest market in West Africa.

“The markets are always full of millions of people from different countries in West and Central Africa, thereby making our people vulnerable to the contagion.

“The Anambra State Government would like to use this opportunity to announce the creation of a special account to assist ndi Anambra grapple with the grave challenges of the coronavirus.

“Known as the Anambra State COVID- 19 account, it is in response to various inquiries from people of Anambra State origin in different parts of Nigeria and beyond who have been seeking ways to assist their people since the viral disease outbreak.”

Adinuba said the account, which was domiciled in a new generation bank, would be administered by Obiano as the Chairman of Anambra COVID-19 Task Force, to ensure absolute transparency and accountability.”

Davido Has The “Hidden Cure” That Can Save The Whole World From Coronavirus

Davido Ft. Trey Songz – Wetin You Say

Davido Has The “Hidden Cure” That Can Save The Whole World From Coronavirus

Wait Oo! Did Davido claim to have tested Negative to the COVID-19 – How Come?

No, you shouldn’t quote me wrong, am not praying for him to have the Coronavirus, but how come he still doesn’t have it? Upon all…

Upon all what? I know that’s the question that struck your mind right now – Well stay with me, I will take you on a tour through my own “Curio-City

Since the woeful news about the Chef Chi contracting the coronavirus broke, I imagined how down the dump Davido should be, but seems my guessing was not even close to being right. Davido is still highly-spirited as f*ck.

However, at my own end here, I was going through a severe contemplation on how Davido and 30 other 30BG crew tested Negative to the virus – perhaps, that was a very good way to kill boredom while observing my own stay at home.

Well through my reflection for some days, I came to the conclusion that Davido is the “Hidden Cure” & “National Treasure” we’ve been looking for in the whole world.

Even has many pour out their disbelief on Twitter about Chioma’s Coronavirus status, I didn’t see Davido lying about such a delicate thing all in the name of clout-chasing.

No!!! Coronavirus is too big to play with, many people will be left shaky and rickety after they heard Chioma tested positive cause they’ve been in contact with her. More reason Davido won’t lie about that.

A particular tweet that was torch lighting how Davido is lying said;

Well with this tweet, my reflection steer towards another angle and there I arrived at this notion that “Davido is Immune to this Coronavirus‘. Yes, I said what I said.

Being Immune to the virus means he can’t have the virus even if they inject the coronavirus into his body, the virus can’t live within him.

How’s Davido Immune To Coronavirus?

Davido and Chioma are two lovebirds that have both displayed how smoochy they can be sometimes, and we can’t even fathom what they’re both capable of be doing behind close doors and if Coronavirus is being transmitted by Respiratory droplet like Saliva, then Davido would have swallowed litres of it.

So If Chioma has the virus then Davido should have, and if he doesn’t have it means just one thing “he’s immune”.

Just when I was thinking of how Davido can save the world and becomes the “World Giant” then the news that Governor, Seyi Makinde of Oyo state tested positive to Coronavirus broke out.

How does this now concern Davido being immune?

Well, I won’t leave you guys behind in this gist.

Exactly 9 days ago as at when am writing this content, the DMW honcho, Davido was with Governor Seyi Makinde, in his abode in Oyo State, and today Seyi Makinde was tested positive.

No! am not saying Davido gave him the virus Oo! am just buttressing my claim that Davido is immune to this Coronavirus.

Seyi Makinde suspected to have the virus, after Atiku’s son was tested positive and he met with Seyi Makinde during the PDP rally held at Oyo State, and now the Governor has it and Davido still doesn’t. E be thing!!!

The best closeness the Governor would have been with Atiku’s son is ‘Shaking of hands‘ and most ‘hugging‘ themselves, and boom the governor received the virus, Davido sure did the same shaking of hands and hugging with the governor days after he met with Atiku’s song and he still doesn’t have the Coronavirus.

Indeed he’s a Son of Mercy.

Davido came in very close contact with two Coronavirus patients and he still doesn’t have coronavirus.

Davido is Immune to the Virus and he’s blood can be used to create a vaccine that can cure or fight Coronavirus.

Davido is the global treasure we need to fight off this pandemic globally!

Davido is on-becoming the “Global Giant”

Or Guys 👇

Should Davido Go And Re-Take The Coronavirus Test?

Let’s hear from you…

Ooni Of Ife Reveals Herbs That Can Treat Coronavirus

Ooni Of Ife Reveals Herbs That Can Treat Coronavirus

The Nigerian Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, has made revelations about the novel coronavirus.

On Monday, the Ooni recalled that a divine proclamation came out to the world last year, June 6th, 2019, during the World Ifa Festival – Otura Meji.

The statement was posted on his Twitter account.

“We foretold about the impending rage of this invisible pandemic war, but few heard us”,

The monarch said.

“Please note that Efod/Urim and Thurim are in the holy Books. They are the same as our ancient readings that have not failed us till date.

“On this throne, I work very closely with all the nations of the world most especially the nation of Cuba.

Hey everyone ! I came back recently from America after cancelling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March.

Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby. We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever. She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self isolation for the minimum 14 days.

I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance and to urge everyone to please stay at home as we control the spread of this virus! Together we can beat this!
